Welcome to Bangor City Men's Hockey Club website/ Croeso y Clwb Dynion Dinas Bangor
About BCMHC: We are one of the oldest clubs in North Wales. We currently play with two teams, the First XI in the North West League Division 7 (south) and the Second XI in North Wales League Division 1. We are always keen to attract new players to the club of any ability or age. We are particularly keen to recruit qualified coaches and anyone interested in contributing to umpiring. We also have close links with Bangor Ladies H.C. who can be contacted through Rhian Culley (rhianculley@aol.com). At present the men, ladies and juniors train together on Wednesday nights and it is free! We are grateful for the generous support of RAF Valley and our club sponsors - Deep Dock Ltd.
Our mission: To play to the best of our ability and to have fun! Go to our new interactive website here

Directions to our pitch:
For the Maes Glas pitch see multimap * click here *, post-match hospitality is at Bar Uno (2 min from pitch).
Getting to our RAF Valley pitch couldn't be easier - but see information below about current delays due to road works. Drive down the A55 and keep going towards Holyhead until eventually you see a sign for Bodedern and RAF Valley. Turn off the A55 at this junction and go immediate left following the signs for the RAF. Drive through the extremely picturesque village of Llanfihangel yn Nhowyn passing a lake on your right (Llyn Penrhyn). A sign to 'the guardroom' on the left directs you to the astroturf pitch. Before going to the pitch however, continue down the road to the main entrance to the RAF base where you must sign in before going to the pitch. Please ensure that you bring some form of picture I.D. such as a Euro driving license, passport etc. Please email your team sheet to the guardroom in advance. * click here for map of Valley pitch, look for the 'tuning fork' shaped road *
Visiting teams please note that it is worth checking the A55 online webcams for up to date information or visit the AA on-line for up to date of what is being dug up and where. Watch this space for updates on potential delays to your journey.
If you want to know what the weather on the pitch is like, go to www.rafvalley.org.

The North Wales Hockey League [Men]
Season 2008/2009: Congratulations to the First XI on winning Division 8 South in the Kukri North West Hockey League. The team lost only one game all season and scored over 100 goals (again) with Frazer Kinvig the top scorer (again). However, it was a hotly contested league with Oxton and Knutsford proving to be formidible opposition. The second XI were well captained by Matt Rogers and they even won some games. The aim is to focus more effort on the seconds next season.Season 2007/2008: Congratulations to the First XI on winning Division 9 South in the Kukri North West Hockey League. The team lost only one game all season and scored over 100 goals (again) with Frazer Kinvig the top scorer. The team also reached the final of the North Wales Shield were they drew with Northop 2s (2 - 2) but lost on a penalty shoot out. Congratulations to the 2nd team for managing to score against the University 2nds (allegedly) and our thanks to Brian Egan for his leadership.
Season 2006/2007: Congratulations to the First XI on their end of season top place finish and promotion to Division 9. The team amassed over 100 goals during the season and recorded only 1 loss and 2 draws. Some excellent hockey was played in all quarters. The team appeared in the North Wales Shield final for the second year running but were very unlucky to lose to Wrexham 2s (2 - 4). Bangor took a 2-0 lead in the first half, but then injuries to Andy Gannon and Dafydd Roberts weakened the team in key areas. Wrexham were powerful in the midfield and attack and demonstrated the standard Bangor aim to achieve. Well done Wrexham, we'll look forward to playing you next year when we're full strength!
Season 2005/2006: Congratulations to the First XI on their victory over Oswestry in the North Wales League Cup. Having secured the silverware the team had only 30 minutes rest before having to play another cup final where they went on to lose 3-4 to Northop Hall in the North Wales Shield. Sadly tired legs couldn't quite hold out, but the guys did the club proud.
